Hyderabad: 32-year-old Doctor, Assistant Cardiologist found dead, suicide suspected
Hyderabad: In third such unfortunate incident reported from the city, an Assistant Cardiologist attached to a private hospital was recently found dead at his apartment under mysterious circumstances. The police highly suspect this case to be of suicide, however, it is not confirmed yet and the officials are waiting for the post mortem report to make a conclusion.
The deceased doctor is identified to be a 32-year-old medico serving at the well known Yashoda hospital. The police officials stated that the doctor was reportedly depressed over relationship issues and no suicide note has been found as of now.
According to recent media accounts, his death surfaced on March 13 after his parents found him lying unconscious in his room. There was no response from the doctor when his family tried to wake him up. Immediately he was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
There is a suspicion that the doctor has committed suicide, the police officials told ANI adding, "The reason for his death is not known yet but according to his family members, the doctor was in depression since the last few days over his relationship matter," the police added. There were no external injuries on the body, nor were there any visible signs that he committed suicide or was attacked.
His family had informed the police that the doctor got married in 2017, however, his wife went to her parent's home to persuade them to accept their relationship and had promised to return soon, but she did not. The doctor's parents allege this led their son to end his life, reports The Indian Express.
Later in the relationship, differences occurred. Both of them had been living separately since then,
During preliminary investigations, the police found no suicide note from the spot. "There were issues between him and his wife. We suspect that was the trigger for the doctor to end his life," Petbasheerabad Sub-Inspector M Parasuram informed TOI.
Officials further informed that they did not find poison or any other substance in the room. "Also, he did not froth at the mouth," the SI said and added they can confirm the cause of death only after receiving the post-mortem report.
A suspicious death case has been registered in this regard and the probe is underway.
Meanwhile, recalling his association with the deceased doctor, president of Resident Doctors' Association (RDA), NIMS, Dr G Srinivas urged the corporate hospitals and the government to introspect on the spurt in suicides by medical professionals, adds TOI.
His suicide was third such instance by a doctor in Hyderabad. Medical Dialogues had recently reported that the Managing Director of Aditya Hospitals had shot himself dead with his licensed revolver owing to financial difficulties.
