Telangana: First-year MBBS student allegedly hangs self in hostel room
Siddipet: In an unfortunate incident, a first-year MBBS student of Government Medical College in Siddipet allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his hostel room on Thursday morning.
A suicide note was secured from his room where he mentioned that rejection in love forced him to take the extreme step.
The deceased has been identified as a 19-year-old medico who was residing in the hostel of the institution. He was a native of Arutla village of Manchala Mandal of Rangareddy district.
On Thursday morning, all the students had their biochemistry examination. As per a recent media report by Telangana Today, the deceased also left with other medicos to appear for the examination. However, even before completing the exam, he returned to his room.
The medico, instead of taking the examination confined himself inside the hostel room. When his friends marked his absence in the exam, they immediately informed the hostel attendant and requested him to check on the medico apprehending something wrong. The hostel attendant immediately went to check on the medico but to his utter shock, he found him hanging from the ceiling inside his room, reports Hans India.
The college administration immediately informed the police who rushed to the spot. They started investigating the case and found a suicide letter from the spot where the deceased mentioned that he was in love with a girl and had approached her. However, the girl rejected him but he could not cope up with the situation and decided to end his life.
The body has been sent for autopsy.
A few months ago a similar incident took place where a post-graduation medical (PG Medical) student attached to Katuri Medical College in Guntur had allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence and the police had suspected that her recent love failure could be the driving force behind the alleged suicide.
