2 coaching institute teachers hold Minor NEET aspirant hostage for 6 months, rape, blackmail, Arrested
Kanpur: In a shocking incident, 2 teachers of a coaching institute in Kanpur, held a minor 17-year-old NEET aspirant hostage for over six months, raped and blackmailed her. Based on substantial evidence, the accused were arrested by the police on Saturday.
According to recent reports, the girl from Fatehpur who was preparing for the NEET medical entrance exam in 2022 at the age of 17 was allegedly held hostage for over six months, raped and blackmailed by two male teachers of a coaching institute in Kanpur.
The chilling incident came to light after the victim gathered the courage to file an FIR against the two accused teachers after one of the accused was arrested for allegedly molesting another student.
Battling with depression since 2022 , she alleged in her complaint that the accused forced her to consume marijuana, held her captive and raped her on multiple occasions. She claimed that the accused also filmed her obscene videos and threatened to circulate her videos and photographs on social media.

Both teachers — one taught biology, and the other taught chemistry — have been arrested and charged with offences of rape, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation and under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
As per a PTI news report, the ordeal began in December 2022 when the student was only 17 years old and had arrived at a hostel in the city to prepare for the examination at the coaching centre. One night, one of the accused invited the victim to his friend’s flat in Kalyanpur’s Makdi-Khera area for a New Year’s party, saying other students would be there as well.
She alleged that when she reached the flat, she found only him there who drugged her by lacing her soft drink with sedatives and raped her while also recording the episode on video.
According to the complaint, Siddiqui allegedly held her hostage in his flat for over six months, during which he repeatedly raped her and also threatened to share the video online if she spoke to anyone about it.
However, the involvement of the other teacher began a few months after this at a Holi party celebration.
Speaking to Indian Express, a police official said "During this time, she was not allowed to leave the apartment or attend coaching classes. A few months later, the accused hosted a Holi party, where the other accused also allegedly raped her. She also alleged that when she went home later, the accused called her up and threatened to kill her parents if she didn’t return. After the NEET results were announced earlier this year and she didn’t make it, she asked her mother to take her home."
She said in the FIR that she could not muster the courage to seek police help as she was afraid that it might land her family in danger. Six months later, the girl’s mother arrived in Kanpur and took her along. Initially, the girl was hesitant to approach the police but she made up her mind to take the step when she came across a video showing Siddiqui sexually harassing a coaching student.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhishek Pandey told NDTV, "The student told us she was raped by the accused on separate occasions. A case has been registered and the two men have been arrested and are being questioned. The student was a minor at the time and has requested us not to share too many details."
