2 SN Medical College MBBS students killed in road accident in Agra

New Delhi: In a tragic incident, two third-year MBBS students of SN Medical College lost their lives in a road accident near the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) on National Highway 19 connecting Agra and Delhi.
One MBBS student was from Agra, while the other was from Hardoi, both in Uttar Pradesh. The students have been identified 22 year old MBBS students from SN Medical College.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening when they were riding a motorcycle when an unknown vehicle struck them.
Following the incident, students from the medical college hostel arrived at the scene and, with the help of the police, took the two injured to the emergency ward of SN Medical College, where they died. Their bodies were later sent for postmortem examination. However, it is said that neither of them received timely treatment because people passing by could not take them to a medical facility.
Meanwhile, speaking to the HT in this regard, the assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Hariparvat said, “The police were informed by an e-rickshaw driver around 6:02 pm, but he was not able to reveal the exact location of the accident. But, we traced the location and reached at 6:09 pm within 7 minutes”.
Apart from this, the police are checking the CCTV footage to trace the vehicle that hit the motorcycle.
Earlier this month, Medical Dialogues had reported a similar incident where a 33-year-old doctor died after his car plunged into a canal at Thottukadavu in Vaikom on Friday morning. The deceased had been identified as Dr Amal Suraj, a native of Ottapalam in Palakkad district, who was working at a private hospital in Kottarakkara, Kollam, according to a recent PTI report.
