BRD medical college MBBS student dies in road accident

Gorakhpur: In a tragic road accident, a third-year MBBS student at BRD Medical College was killed, and three others were injured in a car collision.
The incident occurred when a speeding Fortuner car, travelling on the wrong side of the Char Phatak Overbridge, struck the vehicle. Police have since arrested the driver.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of the Menhdawal area of Sant Kabir Nagar district. The accused driver is from Gorakhpur.
According to a Jagran media news report, the accident occurred around 10 PM on Wednesday night on the Char Phatak Overbridge. According to eyewitnesses, a speeding Fortuner car entered the overbridge from the wrong side and struck the student, who was coming from the opposite side. The impact was so severe that the medico was pinned to the railing and died on the spot.
The impact of the crash was severe, and a third-year MBBS student at Baba Radhav Das Medical College, died on the spot, according to news agency ANI.
It is reported that the student had come to his classmate's house in the Kudhaghat area for dinner. After dinner, he was returning to college when he met with the accident. Additionally, three other people riding two bikes were also hit by the Fortuner.
Passersby immediately alerted the police from the Kauwabag and Mohaddipur outposts, who arrived at the scene and, with the help of local residents, transported the injured to the hospital. As news of the accident spread, a crowd gathered at the district hospital mortuary. However, Shahpur police have seized the Fortuner car and driver from the scene.
Following this, SP City Abhinav Tyagi, ADM City, the Principal of BRD Medical College, and several MBBS students arrived. Meanwhile, SP City stated that the other injured are out of danger.
SP City Gorakhpur Abhinav Tyagi said, "A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered in this incident, and strict action will be taken," he added.
