Muzaffarnagar medical college MBBS student allegedly commits suicide

Muzaffarnagar: In a tragic incident, a 24-year-old fourth-year MBBS student allegedly committed suicide after hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her hostel room at Muzaffarnagar Medical College.
The student, a resident of Kaithal in Haryana, was found hanging in her hostel room on Monday evening. The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, and the police have launched an investigation into the case
The incident came to light when the roommate of the student returned around 8.30 pm but found the door locked from inside. After repeated knocking on the door and calling out the name, the roommate did not get any response. Worried over this, other female students looked through the ventilator and saw the student's body hanging inside the room.

Immediately, the students informed the college authorities and the police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. The police broke open the door of the room and took the body down. They then sent the body for postmortem examination, and an investigation is underway, Superintendent of Police (City) Amrit Jain told PTI.
Afterwards, the student’s family were informed about the incident. No suicide note was recovered from the spot, and the reason behind the alleged suicide has not yet been ascertained.
Senior superintendent of police Suraj Kumar Rai told HT that preliminary questioning of the student’s roommate indicated that she frequently had disputes with a male friend.
