NMC recognizes NIIMS, gives approval to begin MBBS admissions 2020 with 150 seats
Noida: Augmenting the existing MBBS seat pool in the city, 150 more MBBS seats have been added for the medical aspirants as Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences (NIIMS) has finally secured the recognition and approval of the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The institution will start accepting a fresh batch of MBBS medicos for the academic session of 2020-21. A total intake of 150 MBBBS seats has been granted to the institution.
NMC has recently provided the institute with a Letter of Permission. The letter mentions that the college has been granted "the formal permission of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board of National Medical Commission for the establishment of the new medical college at Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh in the name and style of Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh with an annual intake of 150 seats MBBS students for the academic year 2020-21 u/s 28 to read with section 61(2) of the National Medical Commission Act 2019."
The letter further added, " the permission of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board is recorded initially for a period of one year. The next batch of students shall only be admitted only after obtaining permission of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board as per regulations that would be framed under sections 26 and 28 of the NMC act 2019. Admissions made in violation of the above condition will be treated as irregular and action will be initiated under the NMC Act 2019."
It stated, " discrepancies if any may be immediately brought to the notice of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board of the National Medical Commission and the state government."
The Chairman of the institute, Devesh Kumar Singh conveyed the message that "in regards to the future of healthcare industry in India, I have a vision that NIIMS will have a future where medical treatments & services with modern technology will transcend all borders in transforming the scope of clinical practices reaching the remotest of villages where people will be educated about healthy lifestyle and treated with utmost care and hygiene at affordable costs."
He further added that "At NIIMS, we truly believe that education and healthcare should be sought not with the intention of commercial aspirations in education and healthcare but must be guided by the principles of philanthropy."
Located strategically in Greater Noida, just 30 minutes from the upcoming Jewar Airport NIIMS encompasses state of art medical facilities in line with the revised curriculum of the National Medical Commission(NMC). NIIMS concurrently runs with NIIMS hospital which is a 350+ bedded super specialty hospital hence encouraging practical experience for the students.
