MBBS Student Dies in road accident in Bankura

Bankura- In a tragic incident, an MBBS student of Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital died due to injuries sustained in a road accident. He was rushed to a private super-speciality hospital in Durgapur but could not be saved.
According to Statesman Media news report, the student was riding his motorcycle from his rented accommodation to college last week when he was hit by an electric rickshaw at a sharp intersection in Ward 17 of Bankura Town, causing him to fall on the road.
The student was critically injured in the accident and was immediately rushed to a local hospital and later shifted to the Super-Speciality Hospital in Durgapur. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to multiple fractures and severe external and internal injuries on Sunday evening.
Speaking to The Statesman, hospital superintendent Dr Arpan Goswami said he was a bright and soft-spoken student. He had preferred to stay in a rented room nearby instead of staying in the hostel. Currently, the college administration is shocked by his untimely death.
Meanwhile, the Bankura police have failed to trace the Toto or its driver. However, investigations are on.
