Lucknow: A junior resident doctor and an Emergency Medical Officer (EMO) associated with Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), Lucknow have been given a strict warning by the Chief Medical Superintendent on account of unacceptable behavior inside the hospital premises.

While the junior resident doctor allegedly misbehaved with the kin of the patient, on the other hand, the Emergency Medical Officer apparently reported to duty at the emergency room of the hospital block in a drunk condition.

The action came after the hospital authorities received complaints about these doctors.

As per one of the complaints, a patient was admitted with the issues of chest pain and breathing problems. The kin of the patient tried to reach the doctor and asked him to check the patient but the doctor allegedly gave them a deaf ear. The doctor finally came to attend to the patient after passage of 2 hours and when the kins demanded a bed for the patient he began arguing with the family members. The family members immediately reported the whole matter to the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the hospital, Dr Devashish Shukla who immediately responded to the complaint by sending a warning to the medico.

As per the recent media reports, it is not the first time that the resident doctor was involved in the misconduct. He has been served with a similar warning notice in the past too. The hospital authorities took the decision in response to the frequent complaints they were receiving against the doctor.

Another notice has been handed over to the Emergency Medical Officer (EMO) of the same hospital, who was found to be drunk on duty two days prior.

After the incident, hospital authorities gave a strict warning to both the doctors. They also issued a notice to the doctors saying that if the misconduct is repeated in future, then the doctors will be suspended from the duty for the misconduct.
