Medical College Faculty
New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has once again reiterated the need for medical colleges to update their official websites with comprehensive faculty details for each department by the 5th day of every month.
"Any non-disclosure or inaccurate disclosure of faculty details will attract penal action against the concerned medical institution, in accordance with the penalties outlined in Regulation 30 and 31 of the Establishment of Medical Institutions, Assessment and Rating Regulations, 2023; Regulations 9.1 and 9.2 of the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023; and Regulation 8 of the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023," the NMC notice stated.
Issuing a notice in this regard on 10.07.2025, NMC, the Apex Medical Education Regulatory Body, addressed the Dean/Principal of all the medical colleges and the Registrars of all Universities and the Directorate of Medical Education of all States/UTs and specified the process of updating such faculty details.
"Pursuant to the Public Notice dated 23rd July 2024, issued by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board of the NMC, all Medical Colleges and Health Institutions are directed to update their official websites with comprehensive faculty details for each department..." NMC mentioned in the notice dated 10.07.2025.
According to NMC, the medical colleges must fulfil the following requirements while updating the faculty details on the website:
(i) Faculty Details must be listed separately under each department. If the Medical Superintendent, Principal, or Dean belongs to any department, they should also be included under the respective section.
(ii) NMC further mentioned that the list of faculty should be uploaded in a prescribed format. The colleges must include details such as name of the faculty, their AEBAS attendance ID, Medical Registration number, Professional qualifications, Department, Designation, Nature of Employment (Permanent/Contractual), and total teaching experience.

(iii) NMC mentioned in the notice that any non-disclosure or inaccurate disclosure of faculty details will attract penal action against the concerned medical institution, in accordance with the penalties outlined in Regulation 30 and 31 of the Establishment of Medical Institutions, Assessment and Rating Regulations, 2023; Regulations 9.1 and 9.2 of the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023; and Regulation 8 of the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023.
(iv) Finally, the Commission clarified that the faculty list must be updated by the 5th day of every month for the preceding month.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that last year on 23rd July, 2024, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of NMC had directed all medical colleges to upload the faculty list by 31st July, 2024.
The Commission had further asked the medical institutes to update the faculty list every month and specified that the deadline for such updating shall be the last day of every month. NMC had mentioned that all the medical colleges must update their college websites and specify the list of faculty members in each department. Such lists must have the faculties' names, their photos, educational qualifications, latest designations, and registration numbers issued by the respective State Medical Council, the Commission had said.
