MCC Releases NEET PG Round 2 Seat Matrix with Clear, Virtual, and Newly Added Vacancies
For NEET PG 2025 admissions, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has added 2,620 new seats to the Round 2 NEET PG seat matrix, spanning NBEMS courses, diplomas, and MD/MS programmes.
As per the updated data, the virtual vacancy matrix now reflects 11,837 seats, while the clear vacancy matrix shows a total of 17,621 seats across various specialities.
Himachal Raises Resident Doctors’ Stipend from ₹50,000 to Over ₹1 Lakh, Caps Weekly Duty Hours
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu recently declared a substantial hike in the monthly stipend for postgraduate resident doctors. From the next budget, PG residents will receive Rs 50,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 65,000 in their first, second and third year respectively, while the stipend for senior residents has been raised to Rs 1 lakh, and Rs 1.3 lakh in super-specialty departments.
The Chief Minister also highlighted improvements in working conditions for resident doctors, noting that duty hours-earlier stretching up to 36-hour shifts-have now been capped at a maximum of 12 hours.

Health Minister Outlines Department-Wise Faculty Requirement for MBBS Admissions Under NMC Rules
While responding to a query raised in the Parliament, the Union Health Minister, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, specified the department-wise details of faculty requirement in medical colleges for MBBS admission, as per the Minimum Standard Requirement (MSR) Regulations 2023, released by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The details shared by the Minister showed that for 50 MBBS seats, a medical college needs 14 Professors, 20 Associate Professors, 25 Professors, 15 Tutors, 23 Senior Residents. For 100 MBBS seats, the medical college requires 17 Professors, 27 Associate Professors, 41 Assistant Professors, 25 Tutor/Demonstrators, and 40 Senior Residents. For 150 MBBS seats, the requirement is 19 Professors, 40 Associate Professors, 55 Assistant Professors, 32 Tutors/Demonstrators, and 58 Senior Residents.

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and Wife Arrested in ₹30 Crore Fraud Case for Cheating Doctor
Popular filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his wife, Shwetambari Bhatt, were arrested on Sunday in Mumbai for allegedly cheating the founder of Indira IVF hospital of Rs 30 crore. The doctor wanted to make a biopic on his late wife.
Rajasthan Police will apply for their transit remand in Bandra court on Monday, the Mumbai police official added.
