US scientists discover chemical to reverse aging

In a groundbreaking study, researchers have unlocked a new frontier in the fight against aging and age-related diseases. The study, conducted by a team of scientists at Harvard Medical School, has published the first chemical approach to reprogram cells to a younger state. Previously, this was only achievable using a powerful gene therapy.

The team's findings build upon the discovery that the expression of specific genes, called Yamanaka factors, could convert adult cells into induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). This Nobel Prize-winning discovery raised the question of whether it might be possible to reverse cellular aging without causing cells to become too young and turn cancerous.

Doctors successfully reattach a 12-year-old boy’s 'internally decapitated' head to the neck after a bike accident

Surgery to reattach the head of a 12-year-old Arab boy named Suleiman Hassan has successfully been performed by Israeli doctors. The boy was hit by a car while riding his bicycle. The collision caused his head to be internally decapitated, means the ligaments at the rear base of his skull were severely damaged, leaving it disconnected from the top vertebrae of his spine. After the incident, he was immediately airlifted to Hadassah Medical Center for treatment. There, the medical team performed an emergency procedure, utilizing innovative technology and new plates and fixations to reconnect his head to his spine. Ultimately, the patient's life was saved.

Penalty of Rs. 20 lakh for MD, MS, Rs. 10 lakh for diploma candidates for leaving bond service in Telangana

Postgraduate medical aspirants joining Diploma and Degree courses in the medical colleges under Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) will have to execute a bond of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh at the time of admission.

After completion of the course, all the PG medical students will have to serve the Government of Telangana for one year as per the Government Regulations at the time of the admission and in this regard, they will have to submit a bond while taking admission into the PG Degree and Diploma courses
