Punjab: Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has released the schedule for the third round of Punjab State online counselling for PG dental admissions under NEET MDS 2026, detailing fresh registration, willingness and security deposit, choice filling, seat allotment and college reporting dates.

As per the schedule, the tentative vacancy position was displayed on October 2, 2026, while fresh registration for eligible NEET MDS candidates is being accepted from October 3 to October 6, 2026. The vacancy position will continue to be automatically updated if candidates from Round 1 or Round 2 surrender their seats with forfeiture by 5:00 PM on October 13.

Candidates registering for the first time can submit their online applications until October 6. The registration fee has been fixed at Rs 5,900, including 18% GST, while SC candidates will have to pay Rs 2,950, including GST. Below is the detailed schedule-

ELIGIBILITY FOR 3RD ROUND OF COUNSELLING

The candidates who can apply afresh for the 3rd Round of counselling (These candidates have to pay the registration fee and security amount at the time of submission of willingness as per rules)

1 The candidates who will register/apply for the first time.

2 The candidates who have not joined the allotted seat (fresh/upgraded) of Round-II counselling can apply afresh for the 3rd Round and they will have to deposit the security amount again for submitting willingness and choices/preferences of Course/College/speciality as per schedule.

3 The candidates who exit with forfeiture in Round 2 can participate in the 3rd Round but with fresh payment of fee, i.e. fresh registration and security deposit.

The candidates who need not apply afresh for the 3rd Round of counselling

1 The candidates who are already registered but have not been allotted any seat in Round I and II need not register/apply again.

2 The candidates who have resigned/surrendered the allotted seat of 1st online counselling with free exit upto 24.09.2026. However, they will have to submit willingness along with the requisite amount of security (equivalent to penalty) and will submit Choices/preferences of Course/College/speciality as per the schedule.

The candidates who are not eligible for the 3rd round of allotment.

1 Candidate who has become ineligible due to having inadequate documents as per Eligibility Criteria.

2 Candidates who have not registered in Round 1, Round 2, or Round 3.

3 The already registered candidates of Round 1, Round 2 or Round 3 who will not submit willingness to participate in Round 3 counselling.

4 The candidates who have joined Round 1 or Round 2 of Punjab state counselling and who will not submit willingness to participate in Round 3 counselling.

5 The candidates who are holding any seat of AIQ in any previous round as per the list to be provided by the MCC.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs) FOR 3rd ROUND OF STATE COUNSELLING FOR ADMISSION UNDER NEET PG-2026

Q1 Whether the candidate who has joined the allotted college of Round-I or 2 can upgrade his/her seat during Round-3?

A The candidate who is interested to participate/upgrade his/her seat in Round-3 will have to submit willingness for Govt. Colleges only / Govt. & Private Colleges(both) or Private Colleges only, along with a security fee equivalent to the penalty amount

Q2 Whether the willingness fee has to be deposited again to participate in Round 3, if no seat has been allotted during 2nd Round?

A Not required. However, the candidates will have to submit willingness as per the schedule to participate in the 3rd round.

Q3 Whether the tuition fee paid at the time of joining in the provisionally allotted college during 1st& 2nd Round will be adjusted against the willingness fee for participating in Round-3?

A The candidates who have already deposited fee during 1st & 2nd round equivalent to the security amount need not deposit the requisite fee, provided no penalty would have been imposed; the remaining (proportionate) amount is required (as applicable).

Q4 Whether it is mandatory for the candidate to report to the provisionally allotted college of Round 3?

A Mere payment of the requisite fee amount does not confer his/her right to the provisional allotment. The candidate who is interested in joining the college shall pay the tuition fee and report to the concerned provisionally allocated college. If the candidate does not join the allotted seat of Round 3, the penalty will be imposed and the security amount deposited will be forfeited as per rules and the candidate will be ineligible to participate in any further round.

Q5 Whether the candidate can surrender/leave/resign his/her seat after joining the allotted college of Round-3?

A Once, the candidate joins, the seat will not be allowed to be vacated in the allotted 3rd round seat.

Q6 When will conversion of seats to open merit be carried out?

A The conversion of seat of NRI and reserved categories after exhausting all candidates in the relevant category will be carried out during the 3rd round. The said conversion will be done only when the eligible candidates belonging to the said conversion category have exhausted.

In this regard, it is made clear that during the 3rd round online counselling, one can upgrade/shift seat as per his/her choice. Therefore, any seat may become vacant during the process of 3rd round online counselling due to shifting /conversion of seats. Hence, it is not mandatory to submit only those choices/ preference which are reflected in the vacancy position of seats. Therefore, candidates can submit preferences/choices for seats which are not reflected in the vacancy position of seats.
