New Delhi: The National Dental Commission (NDC) has issued fresh guidelines regarding the verification of Undergraduate and Postgraduate dental admissions, clarifying the procedure to be followed by State Dental Councils, and Universities for registration and transfer of registration purposes.

The circular was issued after the Commission received multiple requests from stakeholders seeking verification of the admission details of dental students.

According to the circular, the NDC stated that requests for verification of UG and PG admissions have been received mainly from State Dental Councils for purposes such as registration and transfer of registration. The matter was subsequently discussed by the Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Dental Education Board (UGPG-DEB) during its meeting held on April 24, 2026, following which a standardised verification procedure was approved.

Under the revised guidelines, verification of all UG and PG admissions made before the academic session 2018-19 will continue to be carried out through the respective universities concerned.

For admissions from the academic session 2018-19 onwards, the NDC has clarified that all admission details are available on its online module and can be verified directly through the Commission's website.

This move is expected to streamline the verification process and reduce dependency on individual institutions for admission-related records.

The Commission has also issued a specific clarification regarding UG admissions for the 2016-17 session in Rajasthan. It stated that verification of these admissions shall be undertaken only in accordance with the Order dated May 4, 2023, of the Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur and the Order dated December 18, 2025, of the Supreme Court of India. Only those students who were permitted admission through these judicial orders will be considered valid for registration, transfer of registration, and other related purposes.

The circular has been addressed to all State Dental Councils/Tribunals and Universities across the country. Copies have also been forwarded to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Secretaries of the Departments of Medical Education in all States and Union Territories for necessary action.
