Discrepancy Between NMC, DME Lists: Admissions to 23 PG Medical seats in Karnataka Put on HOLD

Referring to this, a letter from the DME office mentioned, "The seat matrix published by the NMC and the seat matrix prepared at the DME office were cross-checked, and a few differences in the number of seats were noticed. The above colleges have been informed to submit their explanation and many colleges have written to the chairman, NMC, for rectification of the same."

Till the time, NMC decides on these seats, admission to these has been put on hold. Now, these seats can be released only after NMC grants permission to include them in the seat matrix, clarified the committee.

Commenting on the matter, the Director of Medical Education, Sujatha Rathod told TOI, "While colleges have provided the approval letters from the NMC, the seats are not updated on the regular's website. Last year, there were a lot of issues with fake approval letters going around. We realised that it is safer to wait for the seat to be updated on the NMC website. Else, a verification or authentication letter should come from them. The seats will be added to the matrix when the NMC updates it."
