Admissions 2025: NIMHANS Invites Applications For UG courses

Bangalore- National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) is inviting online applications for admission to undergraduate (UG) courses for the academic year 2025-26.

On this, candidates willing to apply for admission to the UG courses at NIMHANS need to submit the online application form on the official website of NIMHANS at the UG Admission link till 15 June 2025. Any individual can apply for a maximum of 3 courses only more than one online application is not allowed.

The application fee for the General, OBC or EWS category is Rs 1,000 per course and for the SC or ST category, it is Rs 750 per course. However, applicants belonging to the PwBD category are exempted from the application fee.

NIMHANS offers a total of 4 UG courses, namely BSc in Anaesthesia Technology, BSc in Nursing, BSc in Medical Imaging Technology and BSc in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology. Below are the eligibility criteria for the said courses-

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1 BSc Nursing (4 Years + 1 Year Internship)

Passed Pre-University Examination/Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12-year course)/equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum 45% aggregate marks.

2 BSc in Medical Imaging Technology (3 years + 1-year Internship)

Passed Pre-University Examination/Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12-year course)/equivalent with English and Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as optional subjects with 45% aggregate or Job-oriented Diploma course from a recognised board with Diagnostic Radiography as a vocational subject

3 BSc in Anaesthesia Technology (3 years + 1-year Internship)

Pass in 2-year pre-university examination or equivalent with a science group having secured an aggregate of 45% in science subjects.

4 BSc in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology (3 years + 1-year Internship)

Pre-Degree/Pre-University/12th standard/equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects and having 45% aggregate in Science subjects

Moreover, the age of the applicant should be between 17 and 25 years as of 1.9.2025. Age is relaxable by a maximum of 5 years in the case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates and by a maximum of 3 years for OBC candidates for the courses where the seats are reserved for them only.

A total of 114 seats are being offered in these courses. Out of these, a total of 11 seats (All India Category-4, Karnataka Domicile Category-7) are vacant in BSc in Anaesthesia Technology, a total of 85 (All India- 35; Karnataka Domicile-50) seats are vacant in BSc Nursing, a total of 11 seats (All India- 4, Karnataka Domicile- 7) seats are vacant in BSc Medical Imaging Technology and a total of 7 seats (All India- 2, Karnataka Domicile- 4, Sponsored- 1) seats are vacant in BSc Clinical Neurophysiology Technology.

The result will be declared on July 31, 2025. The provisional selection list for BSc courses will be published on August 6, 2025. Admission will take place on August 11, 2025. Classes will begin on September 1, 2025. Meanwhile, candidates eligible for the entrance exam will be informed to download the admit card, which must be presented at the time of the entrance exam.
