Chennai: Inviting online application to MBBS/BDS courses for 2021-2022 sessions under a special category in Government seats, the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Tamil Nadu has recently released the date of application for candidates.

The candidates can submit their online application between 11th January 2022 till 13th January 2022. The online submission of the application form for admission to the MBBS / BDS Degree Courses 2021-2022 session can be accessed from the following official websites: www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in / www.tnmedicalselection.org. The candidates have been asked to read the admission details carefully before applying.

The admission will be conducted based on NEET 2021. The candidates belonging to the Tamil Nadu domicile can only apply. The merit list will appear based on scores in the NEET exam.

In the previous notice, the DME has stated that Special Category candidates admission to Undergraduate Courses in Medicine and Dentistry to the Government School students counseling will be done ahead of the General Category. The venue for Special Category counseling will be intimated later. Rank List will be available on the official websites and results will not be communicated individually. Admission will be done through offline counseling.

Through the recent notice, the Government has also notified that the below Priority has been included as per the amendment orders issued vide G.O. (D) No.33, Health and Family Welfare (MCA-1), Department, dated 10.01.2022.

Priority-VII Wives of -

  • Defense personnel  disabled in action and boarded out from service.
  • Defense personnel disabled in service and boarded out with disability attributable to military service.
  • Ex-servicemen and serving personnel who are in receipt of Gallantry Awards.

Priority-VIII - Wards of Serving Personnel.

Priority-IX - Wives of Serving Personnel.

For the latest updates, the candidates are instructed to remain in touch with the official websites, www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in and www.tnmedicalselection.org, frequently from the date of application till the end of the admission process.
