Hereby, it informed all the NEET SS 2021 qualified candidates, the competent authority in consultation with NMC has decided to conduct a Special Mop-up Round II for the vacan Seats in an online mode so that the precious All India Quota seats do not go waste.

"Keeping in mind that 748 seats are still lying vacant in NEET Superspeciality counselling for the academic year 2021, the government has decided to conduct a special round of counselling without any cut-off percentile eligibility to prevent wastage of seats and in the larger public interest as a one-time measure, the officials said. The special mop-up round II for NEET-SS 2021 counselling will begin on Tuesday," the official sources have further told PTI.

Medical Dialogues had raised the issue of vacant Super-specialty seats after the completion of all the rounds of NEET-SS 2021 Counselling due to high cut-off marks.

These seats are not only from branches that are least sought after but hundreds of seats belonging to coveted branches such as DM Cardiology (DMCD) and DNBSS Cardiology (DCRD) and those in the super-specializations of Neurology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology even oncology that were also lying vacant.

Blaming the high cut-off marks responsible for the wastage of hundreds of seats, the doctors had been writing to the authorities in this regard and praying for a lowering of the cut-off percentile and arranging a stray vacancy round for filling up the vacant seats.

After several deliberations by the authorities, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) had reduced the cut-off of NEET SS 2021 by the 15th percentile for 32 specialities.
