NEET 2023: Check out Instructions To Be Followed In Examination Hall

Delhi: NEET UG 2023 is scheduled for 7th May 2023 from 02:00 pm to 05:20 pm (Indian Standard Time) as an ordinary and uniform entrance Test in 499 cities throughout the country and 14 cities outside India. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued instructions to be followed in the examination hall.

The examination center will be opened 2 hours before the commencement of the test. No candidate will be allowed to enter the Examination Centre after 1:30 pm. Therefore, candidates must ensure that they leave home well in advance, considering all facts like traffic, location of the center, weather conditions, etc. Candidates are expected to take their seats immediately after the opening of the examination hall.

The test will start at the time mentioned on the admit card, and the invigilator will announce this effect. Before the start of the examination, important instructions will be communicated to the candidates by the Invigilator for strict compliance by the candidates. A signal will be given at the beginning of the examination and half-time. A signal will also be given before closing when the candidate must stop marking the responses.

The exam schedule –

1. Timing and Duration of Examination - 02.00 pm to 05.20 pm (Indian Standard Time) (3 hours 20 minutes)

2. Last Entry to the Examination Centre - 01.30 pm

3. Sitting on the seat in the Examination Hall/Room - 01.15 pm onwards

4. Announcement of Important Instructions and Checking of Admit Cards by the Invigilator - 01.30 pm to 01.45 pm

5. Distribution of Test Booklet by the Invigilator - 01.45 pm

6. Writing of particulars on the Test Booklet by the Candidate - 01.50 pm

7. Test Commences - 02.00 pm

8. Test Concludes - 05.20 pm

The candidate must show, on-demand, the admit card for admission to the examination hall. A candidate who does not possess a valid admit card will not be allowed to enter the examination hall by the center superintendent.

A seat with a roll number will be allotted to each candidate. Candidates must find out and occupy their allotted seats. If a candidate is found appearing in the examination from a seat or room other than the allotted one, the candidature shall be canceled.

During the examination time, the invigilator will check the candidates' admit cards to ascertain each candidate's identity. The invigilators will also put their signatures in the place provided in the answer sheet and on the attendance sheet.

NTA has further notified that a candidate who comes after 01:30 pm shall not be permitted to enter the examination center under any circumstances.

The candidate must sign twice on the attendance sheet at the specified place, the first time immediately after the commencement of the examination and the second time while handing over the answer sheet to the invigilator. The candidates must also put the thumb impression in the space provided on the attendance sheet.

The candidate will check and ensure that the test booklet contains as many pages as are written on the top of the cover page. No candidates will leave their seats or the examination room/hall until the test concludes as scheduled. Candidates should not leave the room/hall without handing over their OMR Sheets to the invigilator on duty.

Candidates cannot bring any barred item or item that could be used for unfair practices. Possessing any such article with the candidates inside the Centre premises will attract penalties for unfair practices. Smoking in the examination center and nearby is strictly prohibited.

The candidates cannot take water bottles, Tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks, etc., into the examination center. Candidates suffering from diabetes can carry the eatables (with prior intimation) into the examination hall, like sugar tablets/fruits (like bananas/apple/oranges) and transparent water bottles. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolate/ candy/sandwich, etc.

The following is to be carried by the candidates on the day of examination, without which they will not be allowed for examination –

1. A printed copy of Admit Card downloaded from the NTA website with a passport-size photograph (same as uploaded on the Application form pasted on it).

2. One passport-size photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) for pasting on the specific space in the Attendance Sheet at the Centre during NEET (UG) - 2023 Examination.

3. One Post Card Size (4”X6”) color photograph with white background should be pasted on the Proforma downloaded with the Admit Card. The proforma with Post Card size photograph shall be handed over to the Invigilator in the Examination Hall.

4. Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original and valid, like PAN card/Driving License/Voter ID/Passport/Aadhaar Card /Ration Card/ Class 12 Admit Card with Photograph /any other valid photo ID issued by the Government.

5. PwBD certificate issued by the Competent Authority if claiming the relaxation under the PwBD category.
