NEET counselling 2026: 1987 MBBS, BDS seats under 92.5 percent reservation, TN Health releases vacancy position

The vacancy position covers MBBS seats in government colleges, ESIC, self-financing colleges and private universities, along with BDS seats in government and self-financing dental colleges. The document also separately lists an MBBS seat under the IRT Ward category.

Meanwhile, the DME has also announced the inclusion of seven candidates under different admission categories for the 2026-27 academic session, following separate orders passed by the Madras High Court.

The Selection Committee issued the notification, listing candidates included under the Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), NRI, Management Quota and Scheduled Caste (SC) categories pursuant to the court orders. The largest set of inclusions concerns the Person with Benchmark Disability category. Acting on orders of the Madras High Court in W.P. Nos. 37032, 37325, 37326 and 35902 of 2026, the Selection Committee has included four candidates under the PwBD category for the 2026-27 academic year.

The inclusion follows the Madras High Court's order in W.P. No. 37074 of 2026. This inclusion has been made pursuant to the High Court's order in W.P. No. 36525 of 2026.

Importantly, the Selection Committee has clarified that all seven inclusions are subject to the outcome of the respective legal proceedings.

The notification therefore gives effect to the High Court orders for the admission process while making it clear that the candidates' inclusion in the respective categories remains conditional upon the final outcome of the ongoing cases.
