NEET PG Counselling: MCC notifies on more round 3 seat withdrawals, tells medical colleges to verify newly added seats
New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued an urgent notice regarding the removal and withdrawal of certain postgraduate medical seats from the Round 3 seat matrix of the NEET PG Counselling for the academic year 2025.
According to the official notice, MCC received information from several institutes indicating that some seats were incorrectly or duplicately filled in the Round 3 seat matrix. These errors occurred primarily due to mistaken entry of seats under the newly added category, which did not align with the officially approved seat details.
Following intimation from the concerned colleges, MCC has removed or withdrawn such seats from the Round 3 seat matrix. The committee has clarified that these changes have been made strictly based on information provided by the respective institutes.
Therefore, MCC has directed all colleges to carefully verify that the seats shown as newly added in Round 3 are filled correctly and strictly in accordance with the seat matrix published on the official National Medical Commission (NMC) official website. The committee has cautioned that if any college enters incorrect seat details or uploads erroneous information under the newly added seats, MCC will not be responsible for any discrepancies arising at a later stage.
Further, MCC has clearly stated that no request for modification or correction in the seat matrix will be entertained after the result processing, citing the time-bound nature of the counselling process. Colleges have therefore been advised to exercise due diligence while submitting and verifying seat-related data.
A total of 292 seats were newly added across Medical Colleges of India for the round 3 (MD and MS) PG Counselling 2025.

Along with this, MCC has also issued one more notice for candidates detailing the withdrawal of certain postgraduate medical seats from the Round 3 .MCC stated that it has received information from the concerned institutes to remove specific seats from the Round 3 counselling seat matrix. Consequently, the listed seats have been withdrawn and will not be considered for Round 3 seat allotment.
