Puducherry: Online registrations have begun for MSc, MPH, PBD, PGD, and PGF courses at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER).

The candidates can apply till 14-06-2023, 04:30 PM. They need to click the link on the Home page www.jipmer.edu.in and navigate to the link “Application Link for MSc/MPH/PBD/PGD/PGF COURSES - July 2023” and start the registration process.

The full name entered by the candidates in the application must match their Govt. Photo ID Card (Aadhaar Card / Pan Card / Identity Card / Driver’s License) and undergraduate Degree Certificate. (Spelling and order must be same – if it is not the same, the candidate is advised to change it in the document mentioned above/documents before applying).

Candidates can apply only for any one of the courses. They should fill in the details carefully. No request for change in the details provided by the candidate in the application will be considered or entertained after submission of the online application. The photograph and signature details are enclosed in the notice below.

Application fee –

1. General (UR) / EWS - Rs.1500 + Transaction Charges as applicable

2. OBC - Rs.1500 + Transaction Charges as applicable

3. SC/ST - Rs.1200 + Transaction Charges as applicable

4. PwD - Exempted from Application Fees

The process of submission of the application online is completed only after uploading the candidate details, scanned photograph, scanned Caste/Community/ Income & Asset Certificate/PWD certificate as applicable, and scanned signature and then clicking the “Submit button”.

The candidates should download a copy of their filled-in application containing the details. They need not send a hard copy of the application to the institute. Suppose the candidates find an error of entry committed by them in the application after submitting the application fee. In that case, a fresh application should be submitted, and the candidate should make the payment again. The earlier application will automatically stand cancelled. No E-Mail or Written communication will be entertained in this regard.

The entrance exam is scheduled for 02-07-2023, from 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The hall ticket can be downloaded from the JIPMER website, www.jipmer.edu.in, from 23-06-2023, 11:00 AM to 02-07-2023, 08:00 AM. The expected date of publication of the merit list is on or before 17-07-2023. Details regarding counselling and admission will be announced later.

The candidates note that important dates and any other communications related to admission will be notified on the JIPMER website, and no personal intimation will be sent.

Uploading Certificates –

1. Candidates belonging to categories other than UR category should upload their caste/community certificate in the format mentioned in the Annexure.

2. Candidates belonging to the PWD category should upload their disability certificate in the format as mentioned in the Annexure.

3. Candidates belonging to the EWS category should upload their Income & Asset Certificate in the format mentioned in the Annexure.

Candidate should scan the Caste/Community/ Income & Asset Certificate/PWD certificate (whichever is applicable) and save it as “Community Certificate”/“Income & Asset Certificate”/“PWD certificate” in JPEG/JPG/PDF format. The accepted size limit for each scanned certificate is 800 KB.

Eligibility –

MSc Allied Health Science -

1. MSc Medical Biochemistry – Candidates should have qualified in a 3-year BSc Degree Examination of a recognized University with Biochemistry or Chemistry as the main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as the ancillary subject OR candidates with BSc Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized University.

2. MSc MLT – Microbiology - Candidates should have qualified in a 3-year BSc Degree Examination of a recognized University in Medical Lab Technology.

3. MSc MLT – Pathology – Candidates should have qualified in a 3-year BSc Degree Examination of a recognized University in Medical Lab Technology.

4. MSc Medical Physiology – Candidates should have qualified in a 3-year BSc Degree Examination of a recognized University with Physiology / Biotechnology as the main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as an ancillary subject OR BSc Zoology OR Candidates with BSc Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized university.

5. MSc Biostatistics - A Candidate who has passed the Degree Examination in BSc degree in Statistics (Major) OR BSc degree in Mathematical Science with Statistics as a subject from any recognized University OR an examination of some other University accepted by the institute as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission.

6. MSc Neurotechnology - A Candidate who has passed the Degree Examination in BSc degree in Neurotechnology (OR) BSc degree in Science followed by Diploma in Neurotechnology (2 years regular course) from any recognized University. (OR) BE or B.Tech., in Biomedical Engineering or Biotechnology. (OR) Bachelor of Physiotherapy with 1-year experience in Neurology from a recognized Institution. (OR) Master of Physiotherapy (Neurology) (OR) BA/MA in Applied Psychology.

MSc Nursing course –

1. The candidates should have passed the qualification of BSc Nursing Degree of this Institute or any other University accepted as equivalent.

2. The candidates should have registered with the State Registration Council of Nursing and Midwifery.

3. After BSc Nursing, the candidates should have at least one year of experience in a hospital, a college, the School of Nursing, or the Community Health Program and registration with a State Nursing Council. The experience should be complete on or before 31.07.2023.

4. Minimum of one year of work experience before or after Post-basic BSc Nursing on or before 31.07.2023.

5. Candidates shall be medically fit.

Male candidates should have passed any other course recommended by the Indian Nursing Council in place of midwifery. Only those who have studied midwifery are eligible for admission to the branches II and V given below. Candidates who have obtained Post Basic BSc. Nursing (PBBSc. Nursing) qualification from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is NOT eligible for admission to MSc (Nursing) course at JIPMER.

Master of Public Health (MPH) –

1. Any applicant with an MBBS Degree /BDS (Dental) /B.,/B Tech qualification. (Any Branch), BSc (Nursing) / BVSc (Veterinary Science) / AYUSH / Allied Health or Social Sciences of any recognized University / Statutory Body should have passed in the first attempt with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

2. Two years of completed work experience in the public health system is desirable (on or before 31.07.2023).

3. Medical/Dental/Veterinary/Nursing/AYUSH graduates should have registered with their respective State Registration Council.

Requirements for Admission of Sponsored / Deputed Candidates -

1. Candidates working as Program Officers (Medical / Non-medical) under various National Health programs in Central Govt. /State Govt./Autonomous Body / Public Sector Organization would be considered under Sponsored / Deputed category.

2. Format of the sponsored certificate [Annexure – V]

3. The selected and admitted candidates should also pay the necessary fees.

4. The application of sponsored/deputed candidates should be forwarded through the proper channel with the certificates given in Annexure-IV before the last date.

5. Sponsored / Deputed candidates also must appear in the Entrance Examination, securing not less than 50% of marks.

6. These sponsored seats will not be pooled in the General seats.

Post Basic Diploma in Nursing –

1. Must be a registered nurse (R.N. & R.M.) or equivalent.

2. Possess a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery with one-year experience as Staff Nurse or BSc Nursing or equivalent, on or before 31.07.2023.

3. The prescribed experience will be calculated only after obtaining registration from a State Nursing Council.

Age Limit: The Upper age limit is 40 years as of the closing date of Online Registration (14-06-2023), and the age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Service candidates is as per Government rules.

Postgraduate Diploma/Fellowship (PGD/PGF) –

1. Postgraduate Diploma in Genetic Counseling – Any candidate with qualification of MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, MSc/ M. Phil Medical Psychology from a recognized University.

2. Postgraduate Fellowship in Family Planning - Any candidate with qualification of MBBS from a recognized University.

For all eligibility, the cutoff date is 31.07.2023 (i.e. the candidates should have the requisite degree/experience certificate on or before this date, wherever applicable).

Certificates to be submitted at the time of counselling –

1. Proof of Date of Birth [10th Standard Certificate (or) Birth Certificate]

2. Consolidated Mark sheet / Statement of marks year-wise or semester-wise of the qualifying examination

3. Diploma/Degree Certificate (or) Provisional certificate (or) Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination for the course applied

4. Attempt certificate (For MPH course only)

5. Sponsorship certificate, Proforma for Endorsement by the Employer & Sponsorship Certificate by Central/State Govt./Armed Forces (*For MPH course - Sponsored candidate only)

6. Experience certificate (if applicable)

7. Community Certificate (*For OBC(NCL)/SC/ST candidates only)

8. Economically Weaker Sections Certificate (*For EWSs candidates only )

9. Persons with Disability (if applicable)

10. Transfer Certificate/ Migration Certificate#

11. Course cum Conduct/Character Certificate

12. Domicile/ Nativity/ Residence Certificate

Candidates can opt for only three exam cities. The allotment of exam city would be as per the order of preference clicked by the applicant during online registration on a first-come-first-serve basis and based on availability. No request for a change of centre by the candidate would be considered under any circumstances.

The exam city preference is only indicative and subject to change. Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research retains the final decision on the exam centre allotment. Suppose an exam city is cancelled due to the non-availability of the minimum number of candidates in that city. In that case, JIPMER shall do the necessary re-allocation of candidates who have chosen that city to any other available centre/city. It will be binding on the candidates.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, any Exam City can be cancelled at any point, and JIPMER can allot a new Exam City en bloc with due intimation on the website/by mail.

Hall ticket –

It will contain the following –

1. Name and date of birth as typed by the candidate in the application.

2. Photo and signature image as uploaded by the candidate.

3. Examination City allotted and Roll Number.

4. Course and category applied.

Candidates will be allowed to appear for the entrance examination only if they produce the hall ticket, Identity proof in original & a photocopy. They are strictly prohibited from writing anything on the hall ticket, and it will be collected at the examination centre at the end of the examination. This Hall Ticket is issued subject to the condition that if ineligibility is detected at any stage, the candidature will be cancelled.

Declaration of Results –

The list of candidates who qualify for counselling to MSc / MPH / PBD / PGD / PGF courses will be declared tentatively on (or) before 17th July 2023 (Monday). Letters to individual candidates will not be sent. Individual candidates' marks/percentile scores will be available on JIPMER Website (www.jipmer.edu.in).

Admission to all candidates is based on merit, the category of the candidates, and the availability of seats at the time of counselling. The details regarding counselling will be updated on the JIPMER website.
