NMC Nod to 100 MBBS Seats at GMC Khammam
National Medical Commission approval
Hyderabad: Another 100 MBBS seats are being added to the seat matrix of Telangana as the National Medical Commission (NMC) has given the green signal for Government Medical College in Khammam for the academic year 2023-2024.
The apex medical education regulatory body NMC has given its nod for these seats from the academic year 2023-2024. This comes after NMC gave its permission for two medical colleges in Kamareddy and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts.
For both these medical colleges, NMC had approved 100 MBBS seats each from the upcoming academic year 2023-2024. Apart from these three medical colleges, another six medical colleges are likely to come up in the State at Rajanna Sircilla, Vikarabad, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Jangaon and Nirmal.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that senior health officials of the State had assured that around 950 to 1000 additional MBBS seats will be added to the State from the upcoming academic year.
