Stanley Medical College Celebrates 81st Graduation Day, 245 Medicos Receive MBBS Degrees
Chennai- The Government Stanley Medical College, Chennai has celebrated its 81st Graduation Day recently on Wednesday. In this ceremony, a total of 245 students were awarded degree certificates on completion of the MBBS course.
The 81st Graduation Day of Stanley Medical College was presided over by Tamil Nadu Health Minister Hon Ma. Subramaniam. During the ceremony, the Health Minister handed over the degree certificates to all the 245 graduating students. Along with the Health Minister, Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University Vice Chancellor K. Narayanasamy, Director of Medical Education and Research J. Sangumani, Perambur MLA R.D. Sekhar, Royapuram MLA Idream R. Murthy and Government Stanley Medical College Principal P. Balaji were also present at the event.
While giving the certificates, Mr Subramaniam praised the dedication and hard work of the graduates and urged them to continue their efforts towards medical excellence. He said, “The future of healthcare is in your hands. Your commitment to learning and serving will pave the way for a healthier tomorrow”, quotes TOI.
Meanwhile, urging the students to take up government jobs in the medical field, he said, “In the job consultation fairs that were conducted by the State, many people had received appointment letters. As soon as you graduate you also have the opportunity to write the exam under the Medical Services Recruitment Board and get a job”.
Apart from this, as per the TH media news report, while addressing the students Ma. Subramaniam also mentioned that “As many as five buildings and elevators were built at a cost of ₹159.70 crore and a five-storey nursery school building was constructed at ₹13 crore. A new hostel was built at ₹ 22 crore and intensive care units building with state-of-the-art equipment worth ₹12 crore were also constructed”.
Besides, under the MP fund, cooking, laundry and seminar halls have been constructed at a cost of ₹20 lakh. In addition, an electric lift for differently abled students has also been installed at a cost of Rs 50 lakh under Corporate Social Responsibility funds and the work is currently in progress.
