Rohtak MBBS exam scam: Official took Rs 30K per answer sheet, finds probe

According to sources statement to Tribune, the accused is a Class IV employee at the Secrecy branch of UHSR. He reportedly used to take a bribe of Rs 30,000 per answer sheet to send out the answer sheets from the branch. These answer sheets were later returned after students or other persons reattempted. This illegal activity had been going on for the last few years.

During interrogation, it came to light that the bribe amount was initially fixed at Rs 50,000 per answer sheet. Out of this, Rs 30,000 was given to the confidentiality branch employee, while the rest was distributed among two other employees. The first batch of compromised answer sheets belonged to three MBBS students of a private college. These answer sheets were taken out of the confidentiality branch and returned the same day after rechecking.

Along with this, it has also been revealed that the officer of the secrecy branch had bought a car from the bribe money. One of the three students who benefited from this unfair system later became a middleman and started collecting money from fellow students to help them pass the exam. In return, he used to get a commission from the racketeers, reports Tribune.

Besides, the investigation also revealed the involvement of an invigilator who allegedly leaked the exam papers. The invigilator used to share the question papers through his mobile phone as soon as he get them while charging Rs 30,000 per question paper.
