19 year old TN Aspirant commits suicide after failing NEET, Twitter users extend support to candidates, say NEET is not the end

New Delhi: Following the declaration of results of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) Examination 2022, now the Twitter is getting flooded with motivational messages in support of the aspirants who could not clear the test this year.

Urging the aspirants not to take any extreme step for this, the Twitter users have pointed out that NEET is not the end of life, which is way bigger than that.

National Testing Agency conducted the NEET-UG for 1872343 candidates at 3570 different Centres located in 497 Cities throughout the country including 14 Cities outside India on 17 July 2022 (Sunday) from 02:00 P.M. to 05:20 P.M. (IST).

The Examination was conducted in 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).

Recently, NTA declared the Result/NTA Scores/Rank of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2022. ANI adds that Rajasthan's Tanishka bagged the topmost rank among the 17.64 lakh candidates who appeared for the medical entrance exam. Delhi's Vatsa Ashish Batra and Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule from Karnataka bagged 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

Soon afterwards, Twitter feeds started flooding with messages of congratulations and best wishes, while some of the candidates shared their lovely ranks on the social media platforms.

However, concerned about the mental status of the medical aspirants who failed to clear the exam this year, a group of users started sharing motivational messages for them. Requesting the candidates not to lose hope, some users tried to encourage such aspirants by motivating them to keep trying. 

Some of the users started sharing messages stating that "Even if you failed in exam today/ That doesn't mean you failed in Life/ Don't Compare Exams with life."

Some of the Twitter users blamed the culture and also the anxiety surrounding the NEET exam. Calling it "messed up" such an user wrote, "It's not supposed to make you feel like the exam is more important than your whole fucking life."

Such motivational messages are doing rounds on the social media at a time when instances of NEET aspirants committing suicide in the fear of failing the exam are being reported now and then.

ANI adds that recently after publication of NEET results, a 19-year-old girl, hailing from Tamil Nadu's Tiruvallur district, allegedly died by hanging herself at her residence as she failed to clear NEET UG 2022 exams. Police said that the deceased has been identified as resident of Cholapuram, Indira Nagar in Thirumullaivoyal. The student was pursuing a second-year MBBS in the Philippines, as per ANI.

"After seeing her failure, she hanged herself with a shawl in the hall and died. At 3:30, his mother Amuda called for an ambulance. and The mother rushed her daughter to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital (KMCH), Kilpauk, Chennai," said police.

Meanwhile, Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that introducing a major change in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) examination, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has now decided to remove the upper age-bar for appearing in the entrance test.
