Alleged Political Pressure: Thane Doctor tries to commit Suicide by Consuming 30 Sleeping Pills

The doctor recently claimed on his Twitter handle that he was under political pressure as some political agents were asking Rs 50 lakhs in the name of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) officials. He also alleged in the Tweets that TMC hadn't cleared his bills for the last six months.

Civic officials, on the other hand, have claimed that they are unaware of any such pending bills and have assured to look into the matter. The doctor later claimed to have deleted those Tweets and their trails for the sake of his family, as per media reports.

As per the latest media report by the Hindustan Times, in the series of Tweets, the doctor had claimed earlier this month that TMC had not paid his bills for the last six months. He further alleged that a "nexus of political agents" had taken RS 29 lakh from him and further asked him to invest Rs 1 crore in the Aapla Davakhana project of TMC.

"No bills from TMC since 6 months, time to suicide for common man in such situation. Thane supremo knows everything..there is no justice to me..i have small family I request don't harass them..keep our hard-earned money to you all (sic)," the doctor was quoted tweeting by the daily.

TOI adds that the doctor mentioned in another Tweet, "There is a nexus of political agents… asking 50 lacs in the name of tmc officers to clear bills…"

"I'm admitted to hospital under stress of 30 tablets consumption due to political pressure" read another one of his Tweets.

Meanwhile, speaking to HT, TMC spokesperson Sandeep Malvi said, "We will investigate the claims made by Ghule and take appropriate action."

When asked about the matter, Mayor Shinde told the daily that the doctor had come to meet her on Wednesday morning. "He had undertaken some work for the Aapla Davakhana project with a partner and has some dispute with him, which caused him stress. I have assured him of all help, as we do not want anyone to suffer. I am also instructing the TMC Commissioner to look into the matter and take action," she added.

Times of India in an earlier report had mentioned that BJP had alleged that a Thane doctor had left the city following intimidation from a few political agents. In fact, in a statement, BJP city president Niranjan Davkhare had said that the doctor was associated with TMC through a health-related initiative and was yet to receive his remuneration.

"…My life is in danger due to some political agents of the state… I will disclose names soon," the doctor had earlier mentioned in a Tweet which was deleted later.
