Andhra Govt selects SVIMS Medical Superintendent Dr R Ram for Dr YSR Saphalya Award

The award will be presented to Dr Ram with a citation, memento and a tax free cash award of Rs 5 lakh in the first week of next month, ahead of Independence Day celebrations.

Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) Medical Superintendent, Professor and Head of Nephrology department Dr R Ram has been selected for the coveted 'Dr YSR Saphalaa Award' by the Andhra Pradesh government in recognition of his outstanding services at Sri Padmavati State COVID hospital during Corona virus pandemic.

Dr Ram's name was referred to the state government by Chittoor District Collector Dr M Hari Narayana.

The award will be presented to Dr Ram with a citation, memento and a tax free cash award of Rs 5 lakh in the first week of next month, ahead of Independence Day celebrations.

Dr Ram selection has been lauded by civic bodies and medical associations from across the country and in the state as a recognition for his outstanding services as frontline Covid warrior during COVID-19.
