Chamba Medical College first Batch of 99 MBBS Students passes out

Chamba: In a recent announcement, the Principal of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College has informed that the first 2017 MBBS batch which includes 99 students has been passed out. Chamba: In a recent announcement, the Principal of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College has informed that the first 2017 MBBS batch which includes 99 students has been passed out.   

While speaking with The Tribune, Principal Dr Ramesh Bharti told that all 99 pass-out students will immediately join internships.

Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College Chamba was established in the year 2016 by up-gradation of Regional Hospital, District Chamba with admissions of 100 students in the first batch. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College was earlier affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University but now it is affiliated with Atal Medical & Research University, Mandi.

This college was started with the objectives to increase MBBS seats, ensure availability to economically poor students, to mitigate the shortage of doctors, to utilize the existing infrastructure of the district hospital, additional human resources to meet the growing population, and broadcasting medical education in the country by establishing new colleges in underserved area like Chamba H.P. 

Access to comprehensive quality health care services is important for promoting and maintaining health, preventing and managing the disease, reducing unnecessary disability and premature death, and achieving health equity for all local residents.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bharti congratulated and wished the best to all the 2017 batch students by saying "It is a proud moment for the entire college and its faculty that they continue to serve society despite all odds." 

He also said "Despite the constraints and challenges imposed by the COVID-19 epidemic and as well as the teacher scarcity, all students gave their all and completed the tests with flying colours. This was made possible by the devotion and dedication of the limited teaching faculty and as well as the hard work of the students."
