New Delhi: A dermatologist has been chargesheeted for allegedly murdering his 45-year-old domestic help at his residence in East of Kailash, Delhi, in June, with police citing his alleged dislike for the woman as one of the factors behind the killing.

According to the chargesheet filed before a Saket court, the doctor allegedly wanted to remove the house help from her job, but his wife opposed the decision. Police are investigating whether the disagreement over her employment contributed to the alleged murder.

The nearly 350-page chargesheet contains statements from 45 witnesses. The doctor has been charged under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with murder.

As part of the investigation, police seized clothes and other material linked to the case. Sources said the doctor’s handwash and footwash samples were also collected as he had allegedly been unable to completely remove traces of blood. The forensic report is awaited, TOI reports.

The case came to light around 11.36 am on June 18, when a PCR call was received at Amar Colony police station reporting that a woman had been murdered and was lying in a pool of blood on the terrace of a neighbouring building.

A police team reached the spot and identified the victim. The doctor, who was in his 50s, was allegedly found near the body and was apprehended by the police.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a dermatologist has been arrested for allegedly murdering his domestic help after the body of a woman was found in a pool of blood on the terrace of a building in South Delhi's upscale Mount Kailash area on Thursday. The accused doctor, identified as a dermatologist, was found at the crime scene and taken into custody by police. It was found that the 45-year-old woman was allegedly bludgeoned and knifed to death.

During preliminary questioning, the doctor allegedly admitted to attacking the house help with a bat before assaulting her with a knife, police said. The alleged murder weapons were subsequently recovered during the investigation.
