Kochi based urologist while jogging collapsed, declared dead

Kochi: In an unfortunate incident, a Kochi-based doctor, Dr K K Younus who is an urologist and andrologist consultant at Renai Medicity Hospital, passed away at the age of 41 on Thursday.

The incident took place when he collapsed on Sunday while jogging at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor. Soon he was taken to the Renai Medicity where he was put on a ventilator. However, after his condition deteriorated further  later in the evening the doctors declared him to be dead.

After he passed away, his body was kept at Renai Medical Centre until it was taken to Perithalmanna, his native home his last rites will be conducted there.

As per a recent media report in TOI, Dr Younus was an alumnus of Thiruvananthapuram medical college. During his surgery residency, he won the PG endowment award.
