As everyone in the medical field is mourning the loss, former professor and Head of the Department of Urology, Felix Cardoza, remembered Dr. Roy with the few words on the surgery he performed, "The surgery was conducted at the Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, in 1986 where Dr. Chally was working then. That was a time when such surgeries were performed only in big hospitals in major cities outside the State".
