Telangana health dept promotes 36 Deputy Civil Surgeons, 3 Deputy Directors

Hyderabad: Telangana Health Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu on Monday issued orders promoting 36 Deputy Civil Surgeons and Civil Assistant Surgeons to the post of Civil Surgeon (General Line) and three Deputy Directors (Administration) to Joint Director (Administration) under the Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department.

The newly promoted officers have been posted across government medical colleges, general hospitals, maternity hospitals, and offices of the Commissionerate of Health and Family Welfare. The promotion drive is part of a broader effort to improve service delivery and address staffing needs across both urban and rural medical institutions.

According to the order, promotions were made under Rule 10(a) of the Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996, to fill existing vacancies across hospitals and health offices, reports IND Today.

The promoted officers are required to assume their new postings within 15 days of receiving the official orders.

Among the key postings, Mohd Ibrahim was appointed as the Civil Surgeon RMO at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Hyderabad, while B. Vijaya Nirmala, CH. Aruna Kumar and K.S. Padmasri as Joint Directors in the office of the Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare. Mudili Vasantha Rao has been appointed as the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) of Sangareddy, and D. Swarna Kumari as DMHO of Vikarabad.

Other DMHO Postings include K. Lalitha Devi in Charminar Zone; B. Malliswari in Khairatabad Zone; D. Rama Rao in Khammam; Rathod Thukaram in Bhadradri Kothagudem, and P. Venkata Ramana in Suryapet.

Several other officers have been appointed as Civil Surgeon RMOs at government hospitals and medical colleges across districts, including Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Nirmal, Jagitial, Kamareddy, and Yadadri Bhongir.

Additionally, another GO issued by the health secretary approved the promotion of three Deputy Directors (Administration) to the post of Joint Director (Administration) for the panel year 2024–25. The officers include N. Krishnaveni, posted as Joint Director (Administration) in the office of the Director of Medical Education (DME); Shweta Monga, posted as Joint Director (Administration) in the office of the Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) and B. Manjunath Naik, appointed as Chief Information Officer, National Health Mission (NHM), reports the Hindu.
