Telangana Medical Council cracks down on 7 Illegal clinics in Rangareddy
Fake doctor
Hyderabad: In a recent crackdown on unauthorised medical practices, the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) on Monday uncovered seven illegal clinics operating in Hayatabad village of Shabad mandal in Rangareddy district. These so-called ‘first aid’ centres were being run by Quacks, many of whom were former hospital compounders posing as doctors.
A joint investigation was carried out by TGMC Chairman Dr. Mahesh Kumar and Vice Chairman Dr. Gundagani Srinivas. The team identified at least seven unauthorized “first aid” centres, none of which were registered or licensed to offer medical services. Speaking to the Hindu, Dr. Srinivas said, “The individuals behind these establishments had no formal medical degrees, yet were administering potent allopathic treatments. In one case, stockpiles of high-risk drugs including diclofenac sodium, calcium gluconate, steroids, and antibiotics were recovered.”

All have been found treating patients illegally and will face cases under multiple legal provisions, including the NMC Acts 34 and 54, the TSMPR Act 22, and BNS Sections 318 and 319.
Dr. Srinivas further added that these self-styled practitioners had previously worked as compounders — assistants in medical settings — but have now transitioned into illegal medical practice. The TGMC emphasised that there is no legal framework allowing for the operation of such clinics under the guise of "first aid" or "primary care" without a license. The notion that such centres are legally allowed to dispense allopathic medicines is considered entirely imaginary.

In addition to legal measures, the TGMC is urging the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious clinics or unlicensed practitioners. Citizens can alert the Medical Council via their helpline at 91543 82727.
