Tragic Fall: Doctor Siblings drown in Shamirpet Lake in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Hyderabad witnessed twofold tragedies as two doctor siblings died on Sunday after getting drowned in the Shamirpet Lake outside the city. After retrieving the bodies from the lake on Monday morning Shamirpet police are assuming that the brothers may have ventured into the water and drowned.
The 28 years old elder brother, hailing from Bihar, is an Ayurvedic doctor and used to work in Varanasi, reports TOI. Meanwhile, The News Minute adds that the younger brother was a physician at a private hospital in Alwal. The elder brother came to see his brother in Hyderabad and they were out sightseeing when this unfortunate incident took place.
Police have registered a case in this matter and have shifted the bodies to Osmania General Hospital morgue for postmortem.

As per the latest media report by the Times of India, Police have informed the daily that the elder brother came to Hyderabad a week ago to visit his brother and they went outside for sightseeing riding on a motorcycle.
They came to the lake at around 6.30 pm from their residence in the Suryanagar colony. It is being assumed that one of them accidentally slipped into the water and the other one also drowned while trying to save the brother. Police have further informed that any of the brothers didn't know how to swim.
Shamirpet inspector V Sudheer Kumar told The News Minute that on Sunday night, around 9 pm, the elder brother's friends lodged a missing complaint. "During our investigation, we found a bag and shoes. Both of them came here (to the lake) at around 6.30 pm from their residence in Suryanagar colony on bike," he said.
"It appears that one of them accidentally fell into the lake after slipping, and the other drowned while trying to save his brother," he added.
TOI adds that on Sunday night some visitors at the lake found a cellphone, a pair of slippers, and clothes close to the lake bed. When the owners didn't return for a long time, they suspected foul play and dialed 100 at around 8 pm. Following this, the cops arrived and started searching.
However, it was already dark by the time police became aware of the incident. So, search operations could begin in full-fledge only on Monday morning and police deployed expert swimmers for this purpose. Eventually, the bodies were found and the police also traced the bike.
Speaking to TOI, Inspector Kumar said, "It appears *** (younger brother) first ventured into the waters. Perhaps, on seeing his brother getting drowned, *** (elder brother) may also have entered the lake to save his brother. This we are assuming as *** (elder brother) was fully clothed along with his footwear when his body was fished out from the lake."
Police have informed the family members of the doctors. Although there were reports regarding the possibility of the incident being a suicide, the Police ruled it out based on the circumstantial evidence.
