Trichy doctor allegedly commits suicide by consuming pesticide

Trichy: In an unfortunate incident, a 26-year-old doctor working at a private hospital in the city allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide after suffering from depression due to a failed relationship. 

According to the police, the doctor took extreme step after he was depressed for the past few weeks due to his love affair. Unfortunately, despite receiving treatment, he could not be saved and passed away.

The incident took place on May 16 when the doctor consumed the pesticide and was rushed to the private hospital where he was working. The doctors there immediately began the treatment but he passed away on Sunday without responding to it.

Following this, his body was sent for postmortem to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital, TOI reports.  

After the father was informed of his son's demise, he filed a complaint at the police station and a case of unnatural death has been registered by the police.    

An investigation is underway in this regard.
