Govt to regularise Patiala Ayurvedic College staff: Health Minister Balbir Singh

As per a media report in The Tribune, Dr Balbir Singh said the whole process of regularisation of the staff will come to an end in a matter of two months. He said the staff will be promoted as per merit and rules.  

The Government Ayurvedic College faculty and students had earlier protested against the government's decision to bring the college under Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur.  

During a visit to Patiala, the minister said that the government medical colleges in Patiala will be turned into leading colleges of the country, and for this, the Punjab government has chalked out a plan. Reforms are being brought in the health sector at a large scale, he said, adding that the government is striving hard to ensure state-of-the-art health facilities in Punjab.  

Singh also reviewed the construction plan of a trauma centre to be built at a cost of Rs 150 crore at the state-run Rajindra Hospital in Patiala.
