Agartala GBP Hospital marks 64th Foundation Day, Tripura Govt partners with ONGC for new 3-storeyed building

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha attended the 64th Foundation Day celebration of Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital, emphasizing the hospital's significant role in enhancing medical education and healthcare services in the state.  

The foundation day celebrations were held at KLS Auditorium in Agartala on Monday.  

According to an ANI report, speaking on occasion, CM Saha highlighted the importance of AGMC and GBP Hospital in advancing medical education and healthcare services in Tripura. He emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing medical infrastructure and improving healthcare accessibility for all residents.  

Established as a historical institution in Tripura, the hospital has played a vital role in providing quality healthcare to the region, he said.     

"Govindavallabh Panth (GB) Hospital is one of the trusted names in the health services of the state, this hospital has been working with the reputation of providing advanced treatment under the patronage of the government for many years.

Today, I address everyone by attending the 64th foundation day celebration of this ancient hospital. On this grand occasion, an important MoU of Rs 34.46 crore was signed between the State Government and ONGC for the construction of a three-storied building on the hospital premises," he said, news agency ANI reported.   





CM Saha acknowledged the dedication of the medical staff and expressed gratitude for their service to the community.  

On this occasion, an MoU worth Rs 34.46 crore was signed between the state government and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) for the construction of a three-storied building on the hospital premises, as per a post shared by CM Saha on X.  

The foundation day celebrations featured various programs showcasing the hospital's achievements and contributions over the years.
