Bokaro Steel Plant Partners with HSCC India to Establish 150-bed Super Speciality Hospital
Bokaro: In a major move to enhance healthcare infrastructure in the district, Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with HSCC India Limited, a Government of India enterprise. The agreement aims to establish a state-of-the-art 150-bed super-speciality hospital within the premises of the Bokaro General Hospital (BGH).
The MoU was signed in the presence of Birendra Kumar Tiwari, Director In Charge of BSL, marking a significant milestone in the PSU's efforts to improve services at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH).

Speaking to TOI, BSL's chief of communication Manikant Dhan said, "This strategic partnership aims to develop a state-of-the-art 150-bed super speciality hospital within the BGH premises. The facility will offer advanced medical care in multiple disciplines, including cardiology, CTVS, neurology, oncology, oncosurgery, nephrology, urology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, and critical care."
He also mentioned that this collaboration signifies BSL’s commitment to improving healthcare standards, not just for its workforce but for the entire Bokaro district.
According to the MoU, HSCC India Limited, recognized for its expertise in healthcare infrastructure development, will partner with BSL to build a sustainable and technologically advanced healthcare ecosystem that meets the highest medical standards. This new project will be executed in two phases.
The first phase will involve HSCC India Limited preparing a draft project report, including a concept plan and preliminary financial estimates. They will also provide details of the shortlisted partners along with the proposed financial model for BSL's review. In the second phase, the process will move forward with design, construction, and handover to the selected partner.
As per the media report by TOI, Dhan added, "This collaboration will not only strengthen BGH's healthcare infrastructure but also set a benchmark in social welfare through robust medical services."
