Fire breaks out at Calcutta Medical College Hospital building

Kolkata: Panic ran high for some time among the patients and their relatives on Wednesday morning after a fire broke out at the SSB building ward of the Calcutta Medical College Hospital in the central part of the city, where many corona affected patients were undergoing treatment, police and fire brigade sources said.

However, four fire fighting vehicles arrived and fought the blaze successfully quickly before any damage was done.

The fire brigade personnel said the technical snag into the oxygen pipe led to the fire, which was extinguished before any damage was made to the patients wards.
