Guindy multi super speciality hospital to get 500 more beds at cost of Rs 240.54 crore

The hospital would take manpower from the Government Cuddalore Medical College and Hospital, which includes the 32 posts such as pharmacists, grade-II nursing superintendents, physiotherapists, dieticians, assistants, steam engineers, junior engineers and ECG technicians, states an order released by the health department. The order, as per a media report in the Hindu, further said that when the currently occupied position at the Cuddalore hospital falls vacant due to the retirement of personnel, it would be filled on a contract basis.       

The hospital has 757 posts, comprising 249 regular and 508 contract posts. The 249 posts would be created for Rs 42.81 crore. At the same time, the 508 contract posts would cost Rs 11 crore.                                                                                                        

Meanwhile, in January this year, Chief Minister MK Stalin inspected the ongoing construction work of the hospital. Health Minister Ma Subramanian had stated that the hospital's work would be completed by June this year even though the tender for the construction is in September.
