According to the complaint filed by a 36-year-old hospital staff member who was on night duty, an accident victim was brought to the facility. After examining the injured man’s leg and conducting an X-ray, hospital staff informed him that he had sustained a fracture and bandaged the affected area.

The staff subsequently asked for Rs 1,500 for the treatment. However, the patient’s relatives allegedly refused to pay and decided to take him to another hospital. Before leaving, they allegedly threatened the staff over the matter.

Later, one of the accused reportedly returned to the hospital with six others and confronted him over the treatment documents. The group allegedly abused and assaulted him with a hockey stick, leaving him injured. The accused also allegedly damaged property inside the hospital during the incident.

Based on the complaint, Imambada police registered a case against the accused on various charges, including assault, criminal intimidation and damage to property. Further investigation is under way, TOI reported.
