77-Year-Old Patient's Death Sparks Violence, stone pelting at Sahyadri Hospital

Relatives Vandalise Sahyadri Hospital After Patient’s Death in Hadapsar
Pune: In a shocking incident, more than a dozen relatives of a 77-year-old patient resorted to stone pelting and vandalism at Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital in Hadapsar on Wednesday morning, shortly after the patient passed away during treatment. Police have begun detaining those involved, and the hospital is preparing to file an official complaint.
According to the Pune Police, the group created chaos around 11 am, damaging the glass panes at the hospital entrance and several windows.

Dr. Sunil Rao, Chief Operating Officer of Sahyadri Hospitals, stated that the patient had been admitted to the hospital in Hadapsar on November 28. He had been treated for acute pancreatitis at a private nursing home in Hadapsar, and after an internal perforation, he was brought to Sahyadri Hospital by his relatives.
Dr. Rao mentioned that the hospital’s surgical team successfully treated the patient and closed the perforation. The patient was also managed by a critical care expert and the Director of the ICU during his recovery.
