NBE Invites Applications For Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Exam October 2024, Check complete details here

New Delhi- The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has invited online applications for the Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination (DPEE) for the October 2024 session.

The candidates who have completed the approved course of Diploma in Pharmacy and have qualified the Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination alone will be eligible for registration as pharmacists under section 32 of the Pharmacy Act 1948.

Interested and eligible candidates who are willing to appear for DPEE October 2024 can fill out the DPEE application form and submit it through the NBE official website up to September 13, 2024 (up to 11:55 PM). However, the application form once submitted cannot be withdrawn.

DPEE October 2024 session will be conducted by NBEMS on a computer-based platform at various exam centres across the country on three days i.e., 3rd, 4th, and 5th October 2024 respectively and the result will be declared by November 4th, 2024.

As per the official notice in this regard, the exam will be of three papers in DPEE i.e. Paper - 1, Paper - 2 & Paper – 3. The candidates appearing for the said examination will be divided into two groups and are allowed to solve these papers in either the morning or the afternoon shift. However, NBMES has not yet decided the examination shift which will be allocated in due course of time.

Furthermore, NBE has also released an information bulletin detailing the examination fee, eligibility criteria, scheme of the DPEE examination, etc. Below are the details-

EXAMINATION FEE

As per the information bulletin, candidates have to pay a total of Rs 5900/-, which includes Rs 5000/- examination fee and Rs 900/- 18% GST. The examination fee must be paid through a credit card or debit card issued by banks in India at the time of submitting the online application form. However, the fee cannot be deposited through any other mode except the mode given on the web page. With this, it is to be noted that the fee will neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of the Application fee will also not be entertained.

DOCUMENTS

Candidates MUST bring to the test centre the following documents-

i Printed copy (in Colour) of the Barcoded Admit card.

ii PAN Card.

iii Driving License.

iv Voter ID.

v Passport.

vi Aadhaar Card (with Photograph).

INSTRUCTIONS TO FILL ONLINE DPEE APPLICATION FORM

1 All candidates desirous of applying for the DPEE October 2024 session will be required to create an online profile of themselves to generate a UserID and Password.

2 This User ID and Password so created will allow the candidate to log in as an applicant for the DPEE October 2024 session and register an online application. The “Go To Application” link will allow the applicant to continue with the application submission immediately after user creation.

3 If the Login password is lost, it can be retrieved by clicking “Forgot Your Password”.

4 Please mention your full name in the Diploma In Pharmacy Qualification Certificate/ Marksheet. The name as entered by the candidate while creating his/her User ID will be reflected in a non-editable format in his/her examination application form. No change in the name will be permissible under any circumstances after the submission of an application. The candidate will be required to produce his/her Government-issued ID proof bearing the same name at the test centre on the test day to seek entry. It is strongly advised not to apply with an error in the candidate’s name as it will not be allowed to be edited after application submission. If the user has entered his/her name wrongly while registering the user, please create another user with the correct name.

5 Indicate your gender and the Day, Month & Year of your birth. Please enter the correct date of birth carefully while registering the user.

6 Please choose your nationality between the options given i.e. Indian OR Non-Resident Indian (NRI). Indian Citizens who are not NRI should choose Indian. An Indian Citizen should choose a Non-Resident Indian if he/she is an NRI.

7 Email IDs chosen by the candidate will be verified through a system-generated OTP for user creation. The same email ID can not be used for the registration of any other user concurrently. Please note that all email correspondence with the candidate shall be done at this email ID only. Email chosen by the candidate shall be the primary means to communicate with the candidate for examination purposes. Candidates will also be able to communicate with NBEMS through this registered email only. Correspondence received from any other email ID of the candidate will not be entertained. Therefore, candidates are advised to choose the email ID carefully.

8 Please provide a unique mobile number for receiving Examination-related communications sent through SMS. The mobile number chosen by the candidate should not be the primary means to communicate with the candidate for examination purposes.

9 The UserID/Application ID and password so generated will be sent to the registered email ID of the candidate for future records.

10 The index page of the DPEE October 2024 session on the NBEMS website provides a quick link, i.e. “Already Registered? To login”. The online application form for the DPEE October 2024 session can be accessed through this quick link after successful login.

11 The candidate can log in using his/her User ID and Password.

12 The application submission process can be completed either in a single sitting or in multiple sittings, as per the candidate's choice, during the application submission window. However, once an application is completed & submitted, it will be available for editing certain fields only during the “edit window”.

13 Candidates are advised not to complete & submit their online application in haste to avoid any errors in providing information. Request for making any changes in the date of birth, name or any other information provided in the application shall be summarily rejected. NBEMS does not edit/modify/change any information provided by the candidates in their applications of its own. Candidates have the option to make corrections to any information except name, nationality, test city, mobile number and email ID during the edit window.

14 The candidate will be required to provide information as asked by various heads. It is strongly recommended to keep the required information handy before start applying.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The candidate must meet/fulfil the following criteria-

1 Candidates who have passed the Diploma in Pharmacy course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 can register for the Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination.

2 The result of the final examination for the said Diploma in Pharmacy qualification should have been declared on or before 31st July 2024.

3 Candidates must note that they must submit proof /documentary evidence that clearly establishes that the result of the final examination for the Diploma in Pharmacy qualification was declared on or before the cut-off date i.e. 31st July 2024.

4 If the proof / documentary evidence submitted by the candidate does not clearly establish that the result of the final examination of his Diploma in Pharmacy qualification was declared on or before 31st July 2024 and/or does not clearly specify that the candidate has been declared pass/qualified in the final examinations in all mandatory required courses, the candidature will be cancelled and the candidate will also be declared as ineligible.

5 Candidates who fail to submit the documents/images for DPEE will not be allowed to appear in the examination and will be declared ineligible to appear.

6 Candidates are advised to apply for DPEE only if they possess with them all the documents required to obtain registration with the State Pharmacy Council.

7 Eligibility of candidates who have been issued admit cards for the examination will be purely provisional and if ineligibility is detected at any stage of DPEE, the candidature will be cancelled even if the result has been declared and/or the Pass Certificate has been issued.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

Below are the scheme of the DPEE October 2024 examination-

1 There will be three papers of multiple choice questions in subjects/knowledge areas covered in the syllabus as per the Diploma in Pharmacy Education Regulations 2020 (ER 2020) issued by the Pharmacy Council of India. Questions in each of these three papers will be asked from the subjects as per the blueprint prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India.

2 Each paper will comprise 150 multiple-choice questions which need to be attempted in 180 minutes, therefore, each question paper for DPEE will be divided into multiple time-bound sections. Each question will have 4 response options/distractors in English language only. Candidates are required to select the correct/best/ most appropriate response/answer out of the 4 response options provided in each question. However, there will be no negative marking.

3 A candidate will be declared as having passed only, if the candidate obtains a minimum of 50% marks in each paper separately. With this, a candidate will have to pass all three papers in the same attempt.

5 Results (Pass/Fail) for provisionally eligible candidates will be displayed on the NBEMS official website. There is no provision for re-totaling/re-evaluation/grace marks. A ‘certificate of eligibility for enrolment and practice' will be issued by NBEMS to the successful candidate which will be presented before the State Pharmacy Council for registration as a pharmacist.

6 There will be no restriction on the number of attempts to appear in the examination. However, DPEE is a qualifying examination, once a candidate qualifies the DPEE, he or she will not be eligible to take the DPEE again. Any examination taken by a candidate in violation of this clause will be treated as void and as cancelled.

TEST DAY PROCEDURE

As per the DPEE October 2024 Information Bulletin, NBEMS will conduct the computer-based examination in a safe and secure environment. NBEMS reserves its right to review the exam day procedures of conducting the CBT. Below are the Test day Procedures-

1 Entry of Candidates as per Timelines given in the Admit Cards-

i Candidates are required to report at the 'Reporting Counter' of the examination venue as per the time indicated in their Admit Card. The exact point of entry to the examination centre and the main gate of the examination venue may be some distance apart. To avoid unexpected delays in reaching the entry point of the examination centre (reporting counter), candidates are advised to arrive well in advance and familiarise themselves with the exact point of entry to the examination centre in the premises of the examination venue. The reporting counter will close 30 minutes before the start time of the examination. Any delay in reaching the entry point of the examination centre (reporting counter) will result in denial of entry even if the candidate has reached the premises of the examination venue.

ii Candidates reporting late or beyond the prescribed time will not be allowed to appear in the exam under any circumstances. NBEMS will not be responsible for any delayed arrival of the candidate reaching the centre due to any reason.

2 Test Centre Location-

i The exact address and location of the exam centres will be indicated in the admit card. Candidates are advised to familiarise themselves with the exam centre locations at least one day before the exam day and ensure that they report for the exam at the scheduled time. The Google Map location will be indicated in the admit card for quick reference only. It will be the responsibility of the candidate to confirm the exact location of the exam centre to avoid any delay.

ii It is to be noted that only those candidates who have been issued admit cards will be allowed entry inside the examination centre premises subject to fulfilment of documentary requirements.

iii Friends or relatives accompanying the candidates will not be allowed entry into the examination centre premises under any circumstances and will not be allowed to contact the candidate while the examination process is ongoing.

3 Barcode/ QR Code Reader at Entry Points-

i The candidate will flash the admit card and ID proof for verification to the exam functionary standing across the table with a barcode/QR code reader. The candidate will be informed about the assigned lab number.

ii Identity checks will be made upon arrival at the test centre to ensure that no unauthorised candidates are appearing for the exam.

ADMIT CARD

As per the information bulletin, the admit cards will be made live on the official website of NBE on September 30, 2024. However, admit cards will not be issued to candidates found ineligible before the examination is conducted. Candidates will be informed about the availability of the admit card on the NBEMS website through SMS/email alerts and website notices. However, the admit card will not be sent to the candidates by post/email. Candidates are required to download their Admit Card from the NBEMS website and paste their recent passport-size photograph (not older than 3 months) in the space provided on the Admit Card.
