Vadodara: In an unfortunate incident, a 22-year-old final-year MBBS student from Rajasthan drowned at Kukarda waterfall in Gujarat's Chhotaudepur district recently while on an outing with his college friends.

According to PTI report, the final-year MBBS student had visited the waterfall with his friends when he reportedly slipped while standing near the water and fell into a deep section.

Speaking to PTI, an official informed, " A 22-year-old medical student from Rajasthan drowned in a waterfall in Gujarat's Chhotaudepur district on Friday afternoon. The incident took place at Kukarda waterfall."

The a final-year MBBS student of GMERS Medical College, Rajpipla, was visiting the spot with college friends, said Dr Kaushik Damor, warden of the boys' hostel of the institution.

The waterfall is around 55 km away from Rajpipla in Narmada district.

According to the local police, the medico slipped while standing near the waterfall and fell into deep water.

His friends tried to rescue him but he disappeared under water, Dr Damor said.

He was finally pulled out and taken to the Nasvadi Primary Health Centre where doctors declared him dead, Damor said.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a 27-year-old postgraduate medical student was found dead in a hotel room. According to the police, the male friend who had accompanied her was absconding.

The deceased, a paediatrician who recently completed her postgraduate medical training in Warangal 150km away, was found on a bed in an advanced state of decomposition, Miyapur Circle Inspector N Jayaram said. The police officials informed that in a complaint, her father alleged that she had been murdered. Based on the complaint, a murder case was registered at Miyapur Police Station.
