According to a preliminary police investigation, the student reportedly took the extreme step after suffering from depression. He was reportedly under severe emotional stress after his college classmate and girlfriend allegedly stopped communicating with him over the past three months.

As per Free Press Journal media report, the deceased was identified as a 21-year-old MBBS student who was living in a flat at Sagar Premium Tower, Phase 1, along with three other medical students. Each student occupied a separate room in the apartment.
The incident took place on Friday-Saturday night, when he had gone to meet the girl and allegedly told her that he was considering ending his life. Concerned by this, she later informed her friends and asked them to keep an eye on him.
After returning to his flat, he slept as usual. However, on Saturday morning, he allegedly jumped from the balcony of the fifth floor. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday evening.
Following the incident, the police have registered a case in this regard and confirmed that no suicide note was recovered. Further investigation in this regard is underway.
Medical Dialogues recently reported that a female house surgeon from the 2020 batch at Government General Hospital (GGH), Siddipet, allegedly died by suicide after injecting herself with around 10–15 ml of paraquat. As per information shared on social media, the doctor was reportedly under stress due to NEET-PG preparation along with her internship duties at the hospital. However, the exact reason behind her death is not yet known and is subject to investigation.
