Hyderabad: The President of Telangana unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Bandi Sanjay has recently written to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to approve the establishment of a medical college in Jogulamba Gadwal district in the state.

In a letter to Mandaviya, he said that the land acquisition process for setting up the medical college has already been completed and further urged the Minister to establish a 300-bed hospital along with the medical college.

He said that Jogulamba Gadwal was the most backward district and added that the state government had decided to set up six medical colleges in the state, but had left out Jogulamba Gadwal, and approved medical colleges to other districts though 150 acres had been acquired in the district for the medical college, reports UNI.

The aforementioned region of Telangana could be considered among one of the most backward districts. The construction of the medical college in the district would reportedly be helpful in ensuring proper healthcare for the people residing there.
