Hyderabad: Gearing up to solve the shortage of healthcare staff in the state, the state Health Department is going to issue a recruitment notification within the next few days to fill up vacancies for 1326 doctors. The recruitment process for recruiting a total of 12,755 health staff including nursing staff in the state health department will also be planned soon.

The confirmation to this information was given by state the Health Minister T Harish Rao during a review meeting held on Monday. The 1,326 vacancies are spotted in Telangana Vaidya Vidya Parishad, Public Health, Director of Medical Education wings and Institute of Preventive Medicine, reports The Hindu.
Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board will soon make plans to fill up vacancies in various posts including Assistant Professors, Civil Assistant Surgeon Specialists, Tutors, Civil Assistant Surgeon, Staff Nurses, and Multi-Purpose Health Assistants. 
Out of the 12,755 posts, recruitment to fill up 10,028 posts will be done by the Medical Health Services Recruitment Board. The Health Minister has directed officials to follow reservations for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC) and consider all the related legal aspects before issuing the recruitment notification. The medical Recruitment Board will also be responsible for filling up the vacant posts in the Ayush department.
"We are currently making the necessary arrangements to conduct the examinations and the necessary staff is ready. Notifications will be issued in installments within these two to three weeks," as per an official statement. The Outsourcing employees who were deployed in COVID duties during the pandemic will be given a 20% weighting in the selection process while filling up the 1,326 vacancies. The remaining 80% of their grades will be determined by their performance in the MBBS course, reports Times of India.
"Staff nurses should be selected on the basis of marks by conducting a written test in a multiple-choice manner. 80% marks for written test and 20 marks for weightage marks given to those who worked during Covid period," read directions issued in the meeting.
Mr Harish Rao has directed officials to fill technical, lab assistant and junior assistant positions through the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) vacancies through the NIMS Board, and the remaining posts and those in the AYUSH wing through the Medical Recruitment Board.
