Chandigarh opens AYUSH Integrated Hospital, new dispensary to expand traditional healthcare

Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shri Gulab Chand Kataria inaugurated the new AYUSH Integrated Hospital in Sector 34 and an AYUSH Dispensary in Sector 11, expanding the city's public healthcare network with integrated Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Allopathy services, free medicines, and Panchakarma therapy.
Chandigarh: Chandigarh has strengthened its public healthcare infrastructure with the inauguration of an AYUSH Integrated Hospital in Sector 34 and a new AYUSH Dispensary in Sector 11.
The two newly inaugurated facilities are expected to enhance access to integrated healthcare services by offering a multiple systems of medicines under one roof.
Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shri Gulab Chand Kataria inaugurated both facilities on Tuesday. Addressing the event, he said the launch of the AYUSH Integrated Hospital and the new dispensary would benefit city residents by improving the availability of comprehensive healthcare services. He added that the initiative would promote an integrated approach to treatment by bringing together different systems of medicine.

The AYUSH Integrated Hospital in Sector 34 offers Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, and Allopathy services within a single campus. The hospital has been equipped with 25 beds and will remain operational every day from 8 am to 8 pm. According to the administration, patients visiting the hospital will receive Ayurvedic, Homoeopathic, and Allopathic medicines free of cost. In addition to consultation and treatment, the hospital will also provide Ayurvedic Panchakarma therapy as part of its services, reports Dainik Tribune.
During the inauguration ceremony, Kataria encouraged people to incorporate Ayurveda as part of their daily lifestyle, saying that adopting traditional healthcare practices alongside healthy habits could contribute to overall well-being. He also stressed the importance of including yoga and pranayama in everyday routines, stating that regular practice of both is essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Kataria said the establishment of an AYUSH hospital in Sector 34 had been a long-pending demand. With the inauguration of the integrated hospital and the AYUSH Dispensary in Sector 11, he said the administration has fulfilled this demand and dedicated both healthcare facilities to the people of Chandigarh.
