Hamirpur Ayurvedic Institutions receive 90 types of medicines

Medicine Supply
Hamirpur: The Himachal Pradesh Ayurvedic Department has initiated the second phase of medicine distribution to ayurvedic hospitals and healthcare institutions across Hamirpur district, with around 90 types of medicines being supplied to strengthen healthcare services.
According to department officials, the latest consignment includes medicines commonly used to treat fever, cold and cough, stomach-related ailments and pain relief. The move is expected to strengthen the availability of essential medicines at institutions and support uninterrupted patient care.
Earlier, during the first phase, 102 types of medicines had been distributed to Ayurvedic institutions in the district. Officials said the latest supply has been made as part of routine efforts to maintain adequate stock and ensure that patients do not face inconvenience during treatment, reports Amar Ujala.
Hamirpur district has more than 70 ayurvedic hospitals and health centres, where a large number of patients visit daily for consultation and treatment. The department said medicines are supplied according to the institutional requirements, and stock availability will continue to be reviewed from time to time.

Officials further stated that the regular supply mechanism is aimed at preventing shortages and ensuring that commonly required medicines remain accessible at all centres. The addition of the second consignment is likely to improve preparedness, particularly for seasonal illnesses and routine outpatient needs.
District Ayush Officer Ms Tanuja Nagpal said medicines are dispatched to ayurvedic health institutions at regular intervals, and adequate stock is currently available. She added that the department is monitoring requirements and will ensure that no institution faces a shortage of essential medicines.
The department has maintained that future supplies will continue on the basis of demand, consumption patterns and patient load across institutions in Hamirpur.
